Dear readers, I am a nablopomo drop-out.

Well I flunked.  I only made it through 15 days of National Blog Posting Month.  You’ll get over it.

What struck me today - this is what you need to know - is how beautiful, how miraculous, is prayer.  I started thinking about it when I was watching my nephew, DB, on his birthday.  A year and a half ago he had a run-in with a bench swing and I’m afraid the swing won that match.  He was in the pediatric intensive care for several (read: several too many) days.

The incident with the swing reminded me of the intensity of the prayer that surrounded that child at that time, in that place.  Within seconds of hearing what had happened to DB I was flat on my knees, on my face, asking Jehovah Rophe for mercy, for grace, for healing on this innocent and his mother, his father.  As were several dozen others in the following days.

That was the second time in my life that I was stricken, just overpowered, with my personal helplessness, my hopelessness.  The first time was when I realized one day, on my bed, when we only had the one son, what I was doing to destroy my marriage.  I was killing it with my disrespect towards my husband .

My husband is a good man.  The best I know.  And I was undermining him, his confidence, his health.  When God laid that burden on me - when He revealed what I had been doing to my dear husband - I sobbed and sobbed, begging for forgiveness and restoration.  God forgave me, my husband forgave me, and everything has been different (read: better and better) since then.  Our marriage has bloomed - it’s better than I ever expected.  He is a sensitive, tender husband, an entirely responsible provider, and a wonderful dad to our little boys.  He is so much more than I deserve.

Point: prayer from the heart is an incredibly powerful conduit to the creator of you.  Never forget that Jesus cares about every little thing in your little life.  If it’s important to you, it’s important to Him.
